Yuyu Pharma is exploring opportunities in veterinary medicine to expand its pharmaceutical business and identify new avenues for drug development in human healthcare. The South Korean pharmaceutical company outlined its strategy at BIOPLUS-INTERPHEX KOREA 2026, where CEO Robert Wonsang Yu participated in a panel discussion on dual commercialization strategies for human and animal medicines. The discussion examined how pharmaceutical companies can apply existing technologies and research capabilities across both markets.
The approach, described as “One Pipeline, Two Markets,” centers on the potential for scientific discoveries and technologies developed for human medicine to be applied to veterinary treatments. Research in animal health could also generate insights that inform future human drug discovery, although the extent of these potential applications will depend on the specific technologies and research involved. Yu noted that developing medicines for companion animals could help the company build additional drug development expertise and capabilities.
By exploring veterinary drug development alongside its human pharmaceutical business, Yuyu Pharma aims to identify new markets and technologies that could support future innovation across both areas.
